Week 10 ...

Hi,
The 23 things thought me that I can learn anything ..the thing I loved the most was creating a Blog.
I hope that I will have time to keep at it.

All done with overdrive...it was nice to finally have the time to finish these two important  things...
I.m happy about that...downloded two books , one about cooking and the other one, a young adult one
for my challenge reading a the library.....:)

Hi,
All done with this week's training.
The only two things I had to do were to create a list and follow a user.
I created a list on some of my favorite books for story time, I will probably add a lot more to it.
I use vision everyday at work to help our patrons and for myself , I like adding titles to my shelf so I can keep track of what I read and make comments.
Can't wait to see what's next!!

Maya talks about her Roommates!!

Meow to all!

For a while now I have been thinking that I should tell you about my four Roommates…Yes! I have 4 of  them, that is a lot of traffic in the house and in the yard.
First we have Fluffy: He’s a 12 years old grey Cat, my mom rescued 10 years ago, he was going to be sent to the S.P.C.A. because his owner had a new girlfriend who didn't like cats… so that poor thing was very lucky to cross my mom’s path. 

He’s a very patient cat to put up with a teenager like me in the house…sometimes we play hide and seek…..but usually he sleeps….zzzzz. There's always a

"do not disturb" sign where he hides..So I try to be quiet…

Next we have a DOG called Shadow.  Yes! My- oh- my a DOG!!! She is part Husky and part Collie and she weighs 65 pound but I must say she is a lovely friend to have, she watches over me and makes sure I’m OK when I come back in from the outdoors…and she smells me all over…what’s with that?…It must be a Dog thing. We get along very well.  Sometimes she’s a bit jealous when my mom gives me attention!!! But I love her!!
And then we have my mom’s sister, she is Shadow’s mom…They moved in two and a half years ago.  She‘s nice and I like it when she plays rough with me…she buys me toys and treats..But the only thing is that she keeps calling me Lucille, Big Foot, and Garfield and on and on…MY mom keeps telling her my name is Maya…I think she's doing it to annoy my mom…she's a pet lover so she's a keeper.
The last one is my dear mom..you know, the one who loves Splat the cat...oh! I know I need to get over it! Not easy to be jealous of a character in a book..
So that is it, I am what you can call a very privileged cat to live in a beautiful home.  I'm safe and happy with MY mom and my friends. Here is a pic of the three of us getting ready for a nap.

Tweet...about the Blizzard...no! not the one from Dairy Queen!

Hi...and yes I did tweet on Twitter..about the Blizzard in the Atlantic provinces...

What a day!!! Like this morning there was no Blizzard..and then..it started..if was kind of a Storm..and then the Full Blizzard....wish it was one from Dairy Queen..Half a day at work ..it got Maya a bit confused when I came home...

I decided to cook up a storm..a nice pot of Irish stew..was so good..leftovers for a few days..

Have a good night...now time for American Idol..Maya is waiting for me with some cat treats and my popcorn...

Ok Maya! it's my turn this morning.
Hello!
I will be talking about one of my favorite Children's book...I know Maya will be jealous because it's a book about a special CAT...named SPLAT!! :)
 I think he's the most beautiful character in all history of cats books...Mr Rob Scotton writes and illustrates these beautiful books and the minute I saw them at my Library I just wanted to read them, they are so Catalicious to look at! and well written.
Maya just walked in the room asking what I was writing about....Ok! she wants to say a few words:  Hi everyone ..now don't be fools , Splat is just a picture in a book...he is not REAL.. Really I don't know what is the big deal..first of all:  He's not that good looking, he's a bit on the chubby side and between you and me he needs to brush his fur or shave it..that way he will be really flat lol!....Ok MAYA if you don't have anything nice to say about SPLAT..you know what to do........
Sorry mom I just got carried away! I think I need another Cafe au Lait!!
And there she goes...as I was saying for us cat lovers out there it is nice to see cats in books, they are very popular at the library and children love them and even adults too.... and I hope there will be more.
I have to go now to make sure Maya is not making a mess with my Kuerig machine....It's Sunday morning and I do too need another cup of coffee..Italian Roast extra-bold..that's the way I like it...

Maya's impressions on Downton Abbey!!!

Meow to all !

That is it..I'm taking over this blog, I would really like to get your attention on this enormous  wave that came over from Europe called : Downton Abbey. OK I agree...it's a beautiful series..Masterpiece and all...but they forgot to cast one of my kind..I know the Master of Downton has a DOG...but really they are missing the point..a beautiful specimen like me in front of the camera would just capture the audience.

My favorite characters are Lady Mary and Grand Mamma ( Maggie Smith) !!! They would really look nice with me by their side...Meow!! I wish , I wish...call my agent somebody...I've got to drink some milk to calm my nerves..

Ok! Now my mom and Downton Abbey..she's driving me nuts...she is always drooling about it on the phone with her friends...and when I say drooling ...I mean like those DOGS do... they talk about the clothes, the house, the downstairs, the men, she doesn't know if she's in love with The Master or Mr Bates, come on Mom have a little self control..it's just a show ..by the way she's got season 1.2 & 3 on D.V.D  and now she's waiting for season 4...it's on TV Sunday night on PBS..but  she still wants it...I know she is compulsive about that. But God love her she feeds me well.
I got to go now..she will be back soon, I have to get ready to do my everyday act..purr and ask for love and food. Life is good.

Good morning everyone !

Like I was saying in my first Blog, I'm a cat lover so here is Maya to tell you a bit about herself and me...

Well Meow!!!
I didn't know I was going to be put on the spot this morning by my mom...She was bragging to me about this new thing 23 NB ...didn't understand a word she said, but I have to listen because she feeds me!!! and gives me a good home...That is so true...I was rescued last year..I was left at the beach up north , I was only 8 weeks old, somebody picked me up and I was sent to this house with lots of people and  what they called : A DOG ..meow....he was OK!!! One day this lady walked in and it was love at first sight she said would you like to come live with me...she said : I have another cat called Fluffy and a Dog called Shadow....not a Dog I thought!!! but she looked like that she really wanted me...there I went....the rest is history..now I'm in my teenage life...I'm not too bad...I not much of a Hunter..I like being cozy on the sofa and of course on my mom's bed....the only think that I could complain about is when SHE starts singing in the shower.. She thinks she's the star of the neighborhood !! that is a debate :).
Here is a picture of me as a baby and the other well full grown .. I think I do honor to the cat population!!!  
It was nice talking to you all..my mom says goodbye for now...she has go to work..so she can feed me :)

Hi ! 23 NB

Hi! This is my first time Blogging,

I’m a Librarian Assistant for a few years now and my love of books got me here.

My favorite thing about being a Librarian is the Children programming, I love music, I sing and play guitar.

So I do a lot of it with them. Also reading to them and with them, to me they have to be part of the story…it makes it more magical…and also to see them smile at the end makes me really happy.

I did know about Blogs but never took the time to get myself into this very informative activity.

This is for me an opportunity to express myself and share with others ideas and life in general.

I learned that is was very easy to set up.

I’ m also a cat lover….so my Little Maya (looking like Garfield lying on the chesterfield) will probably love to meet you all soon…she loves to show her beautiful self. Pictures to come.
